My first day in SR Beribi Telanai....

One of the lab computer's rules....

Inside the lab...

My cooperating teacher, Teacher Hani.

During my observation, I realised that the students were so talented in making pictures using a Paint Program. I was informed by my cooperating teacher, Ckg Mahani that 1 student will be chosen to be SR Beribi Telanai representative to participate in inter-school ICT competition. Therefore, for 2-3 weeks, she would still be incharged in ICT classes. I would only begin to teach them around 3rd or 4th week of my TP there.

During the class, the teacher would remind them what not to do in the classroom such as "No jumping and drinking in the computer lab". As today was my first opportunity to observe ICT class (I was teaching Maths and English in SR Kiarong last few years), i didn't know what were included in Computer Lab's rules and regulation. In my opinion, the students were reminded every and then because they could remember them all. This recapping was done in front of IWB where students sat on the floor and teacher stand beside IWB where the presentation was projected on.

After the quick gathering, the students were instructed to go to their workstation as assign last week. I reminded myself to copy their names and computer numbers because this was one of Ckg Mahani's way to manage the classroom. Therefore, the students would not fight on each other and who would be whose partner as they were already assigned to specific workstation. Ckg Mahani also walked around in case the students have any difficulties. If the students had something to ask, they were taught not to shout the teacher's name but put a cup on top of their monitor. I found out this was also interesting as it would control the students' loudness during classroom activity. But my only concern is how would the teacher realised which student need the urgency or not.

At the end of the lesson, they were instructed to clean up the computer table and stand straight beside their chair. This was her way on how to make the students lined up and get out from the classroom in manageable way.

12th January 2009

Today,i continued my TP in SR Kiarong. Unfortunately, the computer labs were not ready yet. I talked to my operating teacher which she told me that there could be a possibility that the airconditioner will be soon arrived around mid of january or later than expected. It was so, as the school is selected and involved in the project called "Sekolah Bisai". So everything needs to be renovated and redesigned.

My operating teacher also told me that the computers' tables would also need to be changed around February of this year. Therefore, her subject would be affected again. The pupil would not have opportunity to use and do practical with the computers. It would be a teacher-based kind of subject where the teacher would only be able to bring a laptop or use interactive whiteboard located in the Math's class and give lecture to the pupils.

Around 10 a.m, my operating teacher and assistant principal had suggested that it would be better if I could change TP school, as they didn't really know and confident that the school will be ready for my TP.

So, does this mean that I need to find another new school?

This is one of the room which is still under renovation.

My last lesson with Primary 2 Purple - 02 Nov 2008

It was my last lesson with them because they were going to have final examination starts next week. So both my operating teacher gave me an opportunity to carry out a revision for both english and maths classes. As in for english subject, i decided to teach topic "Simple Present Tense" because i'd realised and found out that some of them were still having difficulties in building up 'Present tense' sentences. I was having a PowerPoint Presentation to recap and assess their knowledge and understanding on that topic. To make the revision time more fun and interesting, i'd included some oral questioning where there would be a reward given to the one who could answer it correctly. I had prepared 10 prizes to be won.

Presentation (Recapping Previous Lesson):

The questions would be under crossword activity where they need to guess the correct opposite words.

Simple Present Tense

Maths PowerPoint Presentation on topic Measurements as per requested by Teacher Ezan:

mathsRevision.031108

For oral questioning and assessment, i used online game and show them with projector. I had to use projector as the school's computer lab are still under renovation.
